英検新設級(準2級と2級の間)に関する最新のお知らせ［続報］

12月25日、英検ホームページの「お知らせ」欄に、「新設級（準 2 級と 2 級の間）に関する最新情報のお知らせ［続報］」が掲示されました。

新設級が測る英語力とは（英検ホームページより抜粋）
新設級では、どのような英語力を測定するか、準２級、２級と併せてご案内いたします。
●　準２級は日常生活における簡単な理解（読む・聞く）や産出（話す・聞く）の能力を中心に測定し、学習指導要領の英語コミュニケーションⅠやCEFR A2レベルの能力記述文が表す英語力を中心に測定。

●　一方、２級は社会的な話題を扱い、より高次の認知的活動に求められる英語力を測定し、学習指導要領の英語コミュニケーションⅢやCEFR B1レベルといった、「Independent User」を念頭においた英語力を中心に測定。

●　新設級は、準２級と２級の橋渡しとして、身近な社会的話題について扱う予定。
語彙や統語的構造などは２級より認知的負荷が低いものとし、準２級よりは抽象度が高い話題について、詳細で具体的な情報を処理する力を測定。

＜長文問題の例＞
新設級　Human came to the Galapagos in the late 1700s, and this was bad for the tortoises. Sailors who had been at sea for a long time wanted fresh meat, and the big tortoises were easy to catch. Scientists also took many to study and show in zoos. The biggest problem was the rats from the sailors’ ships. Rats did not harm adult tortoises, but they ate the eggs and baby tortoises. This was a big threat to the tortoises’ survival.

＜設問の例＞
新設級　What caused the number of tortoises to become fewer after humans arrived?
1. Tortoises were taken away to be studied by scientists.
2. Many tortoises were sold for their expensive shells.
