2/19(日)2022年第３回英検準1級２次試験A日程、お疲れ様でした。受験生の皆様、手応えはいかがでしたでしょうか？A日程の英検準１級の面接の問題を下記に記します。

･2022年第3回2次試験A日程
【ガーデニングをしたいと思っている女性についての話】:難レベル
1.ある日、女性が自宅にいて夫と話をしていた。女性は夫に庭でガーデニングを始めたいと言い出した。夫は同意をした。
2.翌日、女性はホームセンターに行って、ガーデニンググッズと苗を購入した。
3.数日後、女性はガーデニングを始めたが、女性は虫に囲まれて、苦戦していた。
4.その後、女性は殺虫剤を買ってきた。夫はそれを見て呆然としていた。彼は何て言えばいいか分からなかった。

One day, the woman was talking with her husband at home. She suggested to him that she should start gardening in the yard. Then, he agreed to [on] her suggestion.
The next day, the woman went to the home center and bought [purchased] some gardening goods and seeds [seedlings] there.
A few days later, the woman started gardening in the yard at home. Some bugs made it impossible for her to plant seeds [seedlings] in the yard. She was very disappointed to see the results.
However, later that day, the woman bought [purchased] one pesticide. Her husband was very surprised [stunned] to see that. He didn’t know what to say about it.

【ポイント】
2コマ目:苗:seedsまたはseedlings(若木の苗)
3コマ目:女性が虫に囲まれて、苦戦している様子⇒make it impossible to ～で表現。過去問ではmake it possible to～を何度か使うナレーションが何度か出されているが、その逆パターンが今回出ている。
感情表現を入れる。
虫:insects (過去問ではbugs)
4コマ目:howeverで話を転換して、オチが出来ているかどうか？
感情表現を入れる。
～して呆然とする:be surprised [stunned] to do～
殺虫剤:pesticide
